A planning permit is also required to subdivide land. These controls seek to ensure that development includes specified fire protection measures and does not significantly increase the threat to life and property from wildfire. The WMO sets out a series of objectives and outcomes for buildings and works associated with specific uses and for subdivision. A planning permit application must demonstrate that the objectives and outcomes have been considered and incorporated in the proposal. The objectives and outcomes for buildings and works relate to: water supply and connections access for emergency vehicles design and siting of buildings and works vegetation (minimisation of ground fuel). The objectives and outcomes for subdivision relate to: protective features (design siting and layout) access (public and private) for emergency vehicles and evacuation water supply (for land holders and emergency services) public open space (as a fuel management buffer) vegetation
